Art All Night is a festival that focuses on economic growth and sustainability of DC’s small and local businesses through the celebration of visual and performing arts in Washington, DC, including painting, photography, sculpture, crafts, fashion, music, dance, theater, film, and poetry. Art All Night showcases the diverse talents of our city’s creative community. With activations in all 8 wards in 16 different neighborhoods, Art All Night is devoted to delivering an amazing experience across the District of Columbia. In 2026, The Palisades Main Street will participate in Art All Night for the first time! Join us for six amazing events, all sponsored by local Palisades businesses in partnership with The Palisades Main Street!

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Asian Arts Discovery Village with Chia Chinese Learning

Step into a world of creativity, culture, and hands-on fun at Asian Arts Discovery Village, a family-friendly experience presented by Chia Chinese Learning. From 10:00 AM–12:00 PM, children and families can explore artistic traditions from across Asia through interactive activities, cultural crafts, and demonstrations led by Chia Chinese Learning’s experienced teachers. Activities include lantern painting, mooncake play dough creations, traditional fan decorating, tea painting, personalized Chinese calligraphy, heritage arts and crafts, and other surprise activities throughout the morning. Children will create, play, and discover together while learning about the stories and traditions behind each activity, and they’ll leave with handmade keepsakes of their own.

12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. : Experience a World of Fantasy and Adventure with Live Action Fitness

Choose your own adventure at Live Action Fitness’s Art All Night experience! Live Action Fitness combines movement with tabletop role-playing games to turn fitness into an adventure. Bring the whole family to play movement mini-games, fight monsters, earn treasure, and get moving in a completely different way. Family-friendly and designed for adventurers of all ages!

1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. : Plein Air Painting with Andrei Kushnir

Try your hand at plein air painting with renowned American fine art painter, and long-time Palisades gallery owner, Andrei Kushnir at this family-friendly event. You can also enjoy an art show celebrating the beauty and creativity of our local area. A plein air painter for more than 35 years, Kushnir has exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States. His work is held in numerous public collections, including the U.S. Coast Guard, DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Museum of Virginia History & Culture, and University of Maryland Global Campus. Come meet the artist, discover the art of painting outdoors, and experience the Palisades through an artist’s eyes.

3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. : Bill Kirchen: Backstage at the Sanctuary

Go behind the scenes with legendary guitarist Bill Kirchen, “The Titan of the Telecaster,” for an afternoon of live music, career stories, and conversation led by NBC4 journalist Mark Segraves. Hear songs from Kirchen’s latest album, Cat Out of the Bag, alongside favorites from more than five decades on the road. A pioneer of Americana and Outlaw Country with Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen, Kirchen has shared the stage with artists including Nick Lowe, Elvis Costello, John Lennon, Stevie Wonder, and Ray Benson.

5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. : Blast into the Past and Back to the Future

Blast into the past and back to the future with a family-friendly history tour of the former movie center of the Palisades! Enjoy popcorn and some family-friendly games while discovering the neighborhood history of Potomac Video and the MacArthur Theater, once beloved fixtures of the Palisades. Learn what once stood here and how this corner of the neighborhood has changed over the years. Participate in a Silent Auction benefiting The Palisades Main Street’s beautification and green streets program!

6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: Awaken Your Inner Artist with Rain Walker Healing

Tap into your creativity with Rain Walker Healing’s “Awaken Your Inner Artist,” an immersive experience combining hypnosis, crystal singing bowls, light, and reflection. As guests arrive, settle into the space with the sound of crystal bowls, then take part in a guided hypnosis session designed to help unlock creativity and inspiration. Afterward, participants can capture their ideas and reflections to take home. Two sessions are planned for 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Because late entry can disrupt the experience, each session will close shortly after it begins.

7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. : Dance Lesson and Party at Fred Astaire

Conclude Palisades Main Street’s first-ever Art All Night with a night of dancing at Fred Astaire Dance Studio! Start with a complimentary, family-friendly 35-minute dance lesson, then put your new moves to work and dance the night away. Enjoy music, snacks, festive décor, and a lively celebration to close out Art All Night in the Palisades.
